Wed. Apr 22, 2026 – Spring Fashion Show – “Something Wicked”
The Placerville Shakespeare Club will host a Spring Fashion Show “SOMETHING WICKED” on Wednesday, April 22 beginning with a Social Hour at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at Noon. This year’s show will feature the latest spring and summer fashions from several stores in the area. An exciting Silent Auction will be held as well as delightful door prizes presented.
This fashionable event will be held at the clubhouse at 2940 Bedford Ave in Placerville. Reserved tables for 8 are available for $240. Wear something “WICKED” for fun! For questions, call DG at (916) 802-0186.

May 1st and 2nd, 2026 – Spring Rummage and Plant Sale
The Placerville Shakespeare Club’s 2026 Spring Rummage Sale will be held at the Placerville Shakespeare Clubhouse on 2940 Bedford Avenue in Placerville.
This year’s sale will feature a large selection of jewelry, lots of clothing, house wares, linens, decorative items, a wide variety of garage items, dolls, toys, and many other treasures. New items will be put out every day. There will be something for everyone! Come early and bring your really big shopping bag.
The Placerville Shakespeare Club’s 2026 ANNUAL SPRING PLANT SALE will be held on Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. outside in the front yard of the clubhouse at 2940 Bedford Avenue, Placerville. There will be a selection of perennials, vegetable plants and tomatoes galore. In addition, there will be a wide variety of yard art available. Come early for the best bargains!

Wed. Mar 25, 2026 – Bridge Tournament – “Let’s Make a Deal”
The community is invited to “Let’s Make a Deal”, the Placerville Shakespeare Club Annual Bridge Party! This day of brilliant bridge, fabulous food, and delightful door prizes welcomes men and women bridge players. The event will be held on Wednesday, March 25 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the clubhouse, 2940 Bedford Ave. in Placerville. Play begins promptly at 10:00 A.M.
$50 a pair includes a morning snack, lunch, cash prizes as well as door prizes. Partners will play together the entire day. Applications must be received by March 17. Tables will be limited to 20. Call Ruthie at (530) 919-6392 for more information.

Sun. Mar 15, 2026 – Author’s Day
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Placerville Shakespeare Club will present for the community their 17th Annual “Authors’ Day” featuring author presentations, question & answer period, book sales, book signings, door prizes and light refreshments.

This year’s authors include:
- Michelle Chouinard – Michelle Chouinard is the Mary Higgins Clark Award nominated, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, and San Francisco Chronicle bestselling author behind the Serial Killer Guide to San Francisco mysteries, The Vacation, and the Detective Jo Fournier series
- Sandra Sullivan – Romantasy (Romance/Fantasy) – Sandra Sullivan wrote her first novel at the age of 12. Even while running the Creative Arts Therapy program as part of a psychiatric treatment program, writing was never far from Ms. Sullivan’s mind. Now retired, Ms. Sullivan has begun her second career as an author. Ms. Sullivan’s love of mysteries, roses, parrots, and dogs, has led to her writing, The Parrot in the Closet mystery series with Book one, Murder Picks a Rose.
- Erin Dealey – Author Erin Dealey is a K-12 Language Arts/ theater teacher, former Co-RA for SCBWI CA North/Central, and motivational speaker. Erin’s original career goal was Olympic Gold Medal tetherball player. When that didn’t pan out, she became a teacher, theater director, actor, mom, and author.
- Susan Norman – Susan Norman has had a lifelong journey with the river, working, exploring, competing worldwide, and winning National and World Championship titles as a member of the U.S. Slalom Kayak Team and the U.S. Women’s Whitewater Rafting Team. Her book, RISK is not just a memoir, it’s a testament to resilience. It’s the story of how she used the lessons she learned from the river to confront the effects of childhood trauma, both for herself and her nephew, whom she adopted when he was four.
The doors will open at noon with the program beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Placerville Shakespeare Clubhouse, 2940 Bedford Avenue.

Sat. Nov 22, 2025 – Winter Rummage Sale
The Placerville Shakespeare Club hosted a Winter Rummage Sale from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, Nov. 22nd at the Placerville Shakespeare Club at 2940 Bedford Avenue, Placerville CA 95667.
We counted over 120 people waiting to enter the clubhouse at 9 a.m. where they browsed and purchased from hundreds of previously enjoyed treasures, including holiday gifts and decor, winter clothes and household goods.
Tues. Aug 5, 2025 – National Night Out

We will be serving cookies, chips, and lemonade and have games for children and adults alike! We welcome our Placerville neighbors to chat, play corn hole, checkers and more, and see the clubhouse!
Sun. June 22, 2025 – Scholarship Tea
The Placerville Shakespeare Club hosts the 2025 Mollie Hurd Scholarship Winners and their families at a 1:00pm Afternoon Tea at the Bedford Avenue historic clubhouse. Each student will speak to the members about their future plans and aspirations.
The Placerville Shakespeare Club presented scholarships to Diana Mora, Sarahi Lopez Pliego, Rebeca Roth, Isabella Mc Ritchie, Ashlyn Lim, Madison Blair, and 5 others.

Step Inside Placerville’s Past: 2025 Historic Home Tour Unveils Bedford-Clay Street Treasures
Unlock the doors to history and experience the captivating charm of Placerville’s Victorian era at the 2025 Historic Home Tour, presented by the El Dorado County Historical Society (EDCHS). On Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, immerse yourself in the storied homes of the Bedford Avenue-Clay Street Historic District, where architectural marvels and tales of pioneering families come to life.
This self-guided tour offers an exclusive opportunity to explore the interiors of nine beautifully preserved properties, showcasing a diverse range of 19th and early 20th-century architectural styles. From the elegant Tudor-Revival and Queen Anne to the classic Dutch Colonial, Eastern Shingle, Pioneer-era Gothic Revival, and Art Deco, each property tells a unique story of Placerville’s rich heritage.

The doors will open at noon with the program beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Placerville Shakespeare Clubhouse, 2940 Bedford Avenue. Tickets are $15. All event proceeds will fund scholarships for local students.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day
The Placerville Shakespeare Club is celebrating Valentine’s Day by creating valentine cards. The homemade valentine cards will be donated to the El Dorado County Senior Services Home Delivered Meal Program to be included with the February 14 delivered meals.
The valentines are given as a reminder of the love and friendship in our community.
